About A/PROF JOHN CARMODY
Meet A/Prof John Carmody MB BCh FRCPI FRACP PhD, a neurologist offering consultations in Wollongong since 2009. With neurology training completed in Dublin and Sydney, he obtained his PhD at UOW in 2015 under the guidance of Prof Don Iverson and A/Prof Victoria Traynor. A member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), Dr. Carmody has authored medical journal articles, contributed to a medical textbook, and serves as a reviewer for several medical journals. He brings experience from serving on both the UOW-ISLHD medical research ethics committee and the RACP Research Foundation. Previous head of the neurology department at Wollongong Public Hospital, he has been honored as consultant of the year by junior hospital doctors three times. A/Prof Carmody is also an examiner for the RACP at local and national levels, overseeing the supervision of medical students locally and abroad.
