Dr. Brian Bear is an orthopedic hand surgery specialist in Rockford, IL. He finished his medical education at Northwestern University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at Cornell Hospital for Special Surgery. He completed a shoulder, elbow, hand, and microvascular surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. He has over 32 years of experience. His goal is to provide compassionate care with expertise comparable to any major university center. His area of focus is shoulder, hand, elbow, microvascular, traumatic, and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Brian provides the best medical care to help his patients return to their active and pain-free lifestyles. He trains medical students, family practice residents, and orthopedic surgery residents at the University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Brian also serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
