About CAROL E. SALEM
Dr. Carol E. Salem is the Medical Director of the Minimally Invasive Robotic Surgery Program at Scripps Mercy Hospital and has recently joined the Hillcrest Urological Medical Group located close to the hospital. Dr. Salem is a distinguished Urologist with board certification from the American Board of Urology. She completed her medical education at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, which includes a general surgery internship, a urology residency, and a urologic oncology fellowship. Dr. Salem also holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a medical degree from USC. With over 32 years of experience in urology, she excels in robotic surgery using the da Vinci® Surgical System, specializing in treating prostate cancer and other urologic malignancies. Her role as the Medical Director at Scripps Mercy Hospital showcases her leadership in advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques. Dr. Salem's expertise is a valuable addition to the Hillcrest Urological Medical Group, where she is available for telehealth appointments, ensuring convenient access to specialized care.
