About CURTIS E. DOBERSTEIN

Dr. Curtis E. Doberstein leads cerebrovascular surgery at Rhode Island Hospital and serves as the vice-chair of clinical operations in the Department of Neurosurgery. He earned his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal in 1988 and completed his residency and fellowship in neurosurgery at the University of California, Los Angeles. Board-certified by the American Board of Neurosurgery since 2000, Dr. Doberstein is also an associate professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Brown University and directs the neurosurgery residency program. At Rhode Island Hospital, he heads the vascular neurosurgery section. With a track record of over 500 surgeries, Dr. Doberstein is known for his high level of surgical skill and expertise. He is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurologic Surgeons, also contributing as a committee member for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Doberstein specializes in surgeries involving blood vessels in the brain, neck, and spinal column, often treating circulatory issues like aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and carotid artery disease. He also handles nervous system tumors and degenerative spine disorders in his practice.
