About DR. ALIM MITHA
Meet Dr. Alim Mitha, a renowned neurosurgeon located in Calgary, Alberta. Dr. Mitha earned his undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Following this, he graduated from medical school at the University of Alberta and completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Calgary. With a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Harvard University, Dr. Mitha also undertook a research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, and furthered his training with a two-year clinical subspecialty program at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. Since 2011, he has been practicing as a Cerebrovascular, Endovascular, and Skull Base Neurosurgeon at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary. Dr. Mitha leads a research laboratory at the University of Calgary, associated with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and Libin Cardiovascular Institute. The lab focuses on developing biomedical devices.
