About DR. JACK KOLENDA

Here's The Deal: Dr. Jack Kolenda is a well-experienced Otolaryngologist in Oakville, ON. He began his academic journey in 1989, studying molecular biology as an undergraduate. During this time, he received a stipend for his research in molecular genetics under the guidance of Dr. Clare Hasenkamf and Dr. Dan Riggs, both associate professors at the University of Toronto. His research focused on molecular genetics, particularly thyroid cancer, where he worked with Dr. Sylvia Asa, a respected research professor at the University Health Network. He later shifted to clinical research in thyroid cancer with Dr. Irving B. Rosen, a professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He is also a member of the Department of General Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and the University Health Network. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1996 and then completed a 5-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in 2001. He chose this specialty because he was fascinated by the complex challenges of head and neck anatomy, including various types of surgery like craniofacial, neurotologic, facial plastic, and reconstructive surgery. He speaks both English and Polish.
