Meet Dr. Michel Melanson, a renowned neurologist based in Kingston, ON. Dr. Melanson earned his medical degree from the Université de Montréal Faculty of Medicine and holds the position of associate professor in the Department of Medicine. He also has a dual appointment in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Since he joined the faculty in 1998, Dr. Melanson has dedicated himself to neurology, serving as the Neurology Residency Training Director for a decade. As the Director of the EMG laboratories at Kingston General and Hotel Dieu Hospitals, Dr. Melanson and his team specialize in evaluating patients with neuromuscular disorders. He is particularly focused on neuromuscular diseases and works closely with researchers at the Queen’s Center for Neurosciences. Dr. Melanson's research interests include the clinical aspects of disorders like ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, and Muscular Dystrophy. Additionally, he leads investigations in clinical trials related to ALS and Inflammatory Neuropathies. Dr. Michel Melanson actively participates in national and international registries focused on neuromuscular diseases.
