About DR. PARESH K. DOSHI
Dr. Paresh K. Doshi is a prominent neurosurgeon in Mumbai and a pioneer of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery in India. He completed his M.B.B.S. at Smt. N. H. L. Municipal Medical College in Ahmedabad and his M.S. (General Surgery) at Sheth K. M. School of Post Graduate Medicine and Research, Ahmedabad. He later earned his M.Ch. (Neurosurgery) from T.N. Medical College, Bombay. Dr. Doshi further specialised with extensive training in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery at famous institutions like the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square London, Maudsley, King’s College Hospital, and Newcastle General Hospital, gaining four years of advanced experience. In 1998, he became the first Indian neurosurgeon to perform deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery for Parkinson's disease. Dr. Doshi has performed over 650 stereotactic surgeries, including 450 deep brain stimulation (DBS) procedures, using a 3D coordinate system for precise treatment. He also specialises in stereotactic biopsy and cervical rhizotomy. Dr. Doshi is known for introducing the technique of stereotactic evacuation of intracerebral hematoma. He has performed numerous groundbreaking surgeries on patients with severe and rare cases of Parkinson's disease (PD). In addition, he actively promotes Parkinson's disease awareness throughout India.
