About DR STUART BUTTERLY
Meet Dr. Stuart Butterly, an interventional cardiologist and structural heart specialist at Heart HQ. A graduate of the University of Queensland, he completed his Physician and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship training at Princess Alexandra and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals in Brisbane. Dr. Butterly is recognized as a Level B CTCA Specialist, focusing on treating complex coronary artery disease using distal radial artery access for procedures like coronary angiography and stenting. He actively contributes to medical journals in Australia and internationally and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Queensland, where his research focuses on patients with acute myocardial injury without obstructive coronary artery disease. At Heart HQ, Dr. Butterly serves as the director and also works with Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital in Birtinya, QLD. Dr. Butterly discovered his passion for the Sunshine Coast during his cardiology training at Nambour General Hospital and decided to settle there to practice as a Cardiologist after completing his training. With a unique expertise in using the distal radial artery for coronary procedures, Dr. Butterly stands out as one of the few specialists in Australia offering this advanced technique.
