About DR. VIVEK MEHTA
Meet Dr. Vivek Mehta, a renowned neurosurgeon based in Edmonton, AB. Dr. Mehta obtained his medical degree from Queen’s University in 1992 and completed his neurosurgical residency at Dalhousie University. Following this, he underwent clinical fellowship training at prestigious institutions such as Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. He also holds a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Harvard University.Having served as an assistant professor of Neurosurgery at Dalhousie University, Dr. Mehta has dedicated the past 18 years to practicing pediatric and adult neurosurgery at the University of Alberta. He currently holds the position of clinical professor of neurosurgery at the same institution, specializing in pediatric neurosurgery and neuro-oncology. Dr. Mehta's credentials also include roles as the Neurosurgical Residency Program Director and a member of the Royal College Neurosurgical Exam Committee.Moreover, Dr. Mehta serves as the Specialty Chair of Neurosurgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is a co-founder of the Neurosurgery Kids Fund and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications in his field.
