About HIAL BAHIA

Mr Hilal Bahia is a Consultant Plastics and Cosmetic Surgeon who has received full accreditation from the General Medical Council (GMC). He practices at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh, the Plastic Surgery Unit at St John's Hospital, and the Edinburgh Breast Unit at The Western General Hospital. Educated in the UK, he graduated from The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1991 (MB BCh, BAO, LRCSI, LRCPI), and subsequently served as an Anatomy lecturer for a year. He then completed his basic surgical training and became a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 1997. Following this, he engaged in two years of research, earning an MD degree, and has published extensively in medical and plastic surgery journals. His specialist training in Plastic Surgery occurred in Edinburgh and Glasgow (Canniesburn), culminating in attaining the Plastic Surgery specialist exam FRCS(Plast). He furthered his expertise by undertaking an Oncoplastic/Microsurgical Reconstructive Breast Fellowship in Newcastle. In addition, he completed a Cosmetic Fellowship at the Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery in London, where he worked alongside prominent figures in the field, including Jan Stanek ('10 Years Younger,' 'Plastic Fantastic'), Dai Davis, and Nick Percival ('Plastic Surgery School,' 'Extreme Makeover,' 'Make Me Perfect'). He even appeared in Channel 4's 10 Years Younger episodes and 'Embarrassing Bodies.' He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He holds the honorary position of Senior Surgical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh. He is an online tutor for the Edinburgh Surgical Sciences Qualification in collaboration with The Royal College of Surgeons.
