Dr. Jeffrey Fisher, a Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, boasts an impressive background. Graduating from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha honors, he completed his internship and residency at Bronx Municipal Medical Center. Dr. Fisher then pursued a cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital to specialize in the field. Since starting his private practice in 1989, he has gained 48 years of experience. At Cardiology Consultants of New York, he offers comprehensive cardiovascular and internal medical care, emphasizing patient well-being and cutting-edge treatments. Dr. Fisher is recognized as a fellow of esteemed organizations such as the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, American College of Chest Physicians, American Heart Association, American Osler Society, and New York Academy of Medicine. He received the Voluntary Faculty Achievement Award and Outstanding Teacher Award from Weill Cornell Medical College in 2012. A respected author and medical historian, Dr. Fisher has contributed to various publications on heart disease, including co-editing the textbook "Heart & Mind: The Practice of Cardiac Psychology." His latest work, “Osler’s Deadliest Diagnosis,” was published in The Pharos, the journal of Alpha Omega Alpha honor society in 2024. Additionally, he is the founding president of the Institute for Educational Achievement (IEA) in New Milford, New Jersey, which supports individuals with autism through educational and life skills programs. Dr. Fisher also serves as the President of the Board of Trustees of the James Fisher Foundation, raising funds to establish group homes for adults with autism managed by IEA's staff.
