Dr. Kevan Herold is a prominent endocrinologist based in New Haven, CT, with over 45 years of extensive experience in the field. He earned his MD from Jefferson Medical College in 1979 and completed his BS at Pennsylvania State University in 1977. Dr. Herold holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology & Metabolism (1985), and Internal Medicine (1982). With numerous publications to his credit, Dr. Herold specializes in treating both adult and pediatric patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, as well as diabetes resulting from cancer therapies and hypoglycemia. Notably, he served as the principal investigator for a groundbreaking clinical trial demonstrating the efficacy of teplizumab, a novel drug that can delay the onset of type 1 diabetes by two years. Additionally, Dr. Herold chairs the NIDDK TrialNet, a global consortium of researchers focused on type 1 diabetes. He holds the prestigious position of C.N.H. Long Professor of Immunobiology and of Medicine (Endocrinology) at Yale School of Medicine.
