About MARCY ABEL
Dr. Marcy Abel is a board-certified urologist with additional certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Urology. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. After completing her general surgery internship and urology residency at the same institution, she went on to become a clinical instructor for Vanderbilt Urology residents and has supervised the training of multiple urology physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Dr. Abel has held the position of Chief of Urology at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital. Her practice focuses on general urology with an emphasis on female urologic issues such as recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, and pelvic organ prolapse. She is highly skilled in treating refractory overactive bladder using methods like Interstim and Botox treatment. Dr. Abel is recognized for her expertise in vaginal reconstruction techniques, including robotic surgical repair of prolapse, and is a respected figure in the community.
