About MATTHEW T. MAYR

Dr. Matthew T. Mayr is an experienced neurosurgeon at Neurosurgical Associates, PC. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Yale University School of Medicine. He earned two Navy Commendation Medals while he served. Dr. Matthew completed his Residency and Internship at Emory University School of Medicine. His interests include the latest operative and non-operative treatments of spinal disorders with emphasis on minimally invasive approaches. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He has special interest in minimally invasive spinal surgery. Aside from being very successful, these methods reduce the risks of damage to structures near the spine, which tends to shorten patient recovery time and allow quicker return to daily routine. He also has an interest in artificial disk replacements and has been involved in clinical trials with cervical artificial disks. He specializes in neurosurgical techniques and procedures of the spine, spinal cord and peripheral nerves, tumors and traumatic brain injury. He is affiliated with medical facilities such as Retreat Doctors' Hospital and Parham Doctors' Hospital. He is accepting new patients and telehealth appointments.
