Dr. Max A. Shapiro is one of the leading gastroenterologists in Atlanta. He is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Dr. Max is on staff at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. He finished his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. His specific interests are in colon cancer screening and treating patients with Crohn's disease and Barrett's esophagus. Dr. Max uses multidisciplinary approaches to treat eosinophilic esophagitis and celiac disease. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of social distancing, Dr. Max is now offering telemedicine appointments. Dr. Shapiro is affiliated with Emory Saint Josephs Hospital.
