About MICHAEL VIVES

Dr. Michael Vives is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in Newark, NJ. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1995 and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his Spinal Surgery fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Michael is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has over 28 years of experience. He has extensive experience in emerging techniques such as minimally invasive surgery, disc replacement, and computer-guided spine surgery. Michael Vives is a Professor and Chief of the Spine Division in the Department of Orthopaedics at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and holds positions on the editorial boards of scientific journals, including SpineLine, The Spine Journal, and The Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine.
